Recently Pope Francis created great expectation and excitement on his tour to America. Fr. Michael Collins, author of the book, “Francis; Bishop of Rome” also went to America to be there to witness Pope Francis’ trip as well as promote his recent book, “Pope Francis, A Photographic Portrait of the People’s Pope”. Here he talks to Miriam Gormally about the reaction that the Pope inspired in Americans and how his great gift was to include everyone and say something meaningful to people of all faiths and none. Fr. Michael admitted that while there were still some issues that needed to be addressed by the Catholic Church, namely the role of women, he felt that Pope Francis was inspiring and renewing people in a way that was incredible. Miriam began by asking him about the publishers choice of the People’s Pope and whether the reaction that he received in America was evidence of the reality of that title.
