The Beatification of John Sullivan SJ will be at 11 am on 13 May, 2017 in Gardiner Street Church. A Man Sent by God is a book by John Looby SJ giving an account of his life and times. The book looks at his early childhood and education. His first calling was to the bar in London, but he later converted to Catholicism, entered the Jesuit order and followed an ascetic, spiritual life. Beloved by all who met him, he was was always considered a saint in his ministry in Clongowes Wood College in County Kildare. It is his work here, especially with the poor and the sick, which has led to his beatification by Pope Francis. Miriam spoke with John Looby, who said that his was the kind of life that would make no sense if there were no God.
