We are Church will be marching in this years Gay Pride parade asking Pope Francis to change LGBTQI language to be more inclusive and in line with modern thinking. They say that they need to remove descriptions like, “objective disorder” or “ordered towards an intrinsic moral evil” and that reference to LGBTQI people need to be brought up to date.

They added that even though Pope Francis has made statements in asides that would allow for a more tolerant approach towards understanding homosexuality, he hasn’t done anything about changing the language used in any of the official documents: both these statements appearing in the Church’s document, The Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons.

Miriam Gormally spoke with Colm Holmes and Soline Humbert about their reasons for marching. She began by asking Colm about whether some of Pope Francis’ statements gave him any sense of hope that things were changing.
