The Loyola Institute in Trinity college is organising a conference titled, The Role of Church in a Pluralist Society – Good Riddance or Good Influence? It will take place in Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Con Casey, who has an interest in inter-religious dialogue, believes it to be a “question of great relevance” and that the Church needs to look at it with honesty and integrity. Pat Coyle interviewed him and she put it to him that some might say that the Church is behind society in terms of issues like equality for women and that they may need to address those issues if they hope to have a positive influence on society. She began by asking him why the Loyola Institute decided to run this particular conference.
