For the first time in many years the government won’t have to implement an austerity budget. Many people are hoping for changes that will help make Ireland a fairer society,especially for those on the margins. Social Justice Ireland, an organisation that works to create a fairer society, said that it was critical in times of surplus that the government invest wisely . Miriam Gormally met with Michelle Murphy from Social Justice Ireland and she talked about how Ireland needs to invest in infrastructure, housing and broadband.
