Director leaves CORI

Marianne O’Connor OS, Director General of CORI retired at the end of 2012. During her time with CORI she faced many challenges to Church and Faith. Despite this, she remains optimistic that the seeds of the Gospel are still relevant in society and that the Church can and should learn from the past to move forward.

She begins by telling Miriam Gormally how the challenges facing the Church aren’t just about the religious but also involved the people in the pews.

Thanks Miriam and Marianne. Loved the response to the “dictate” phrase of Pat Rabbit. True, you do pay taxes and why not have an equal right as other citizens to have your say. (In England there is greater equality in that respect – that was my experience when living there from 1995-2001)
Marianne is also optimistic – yes, I share that also – Christ is with His church – the future structure and shape is another matter.

I must say I found Marianne’s note of optimism very encouraging also.
