Fr Pat Collins’ new book, “Encountering Jesus” draws on his own experience of working with New Evangelisation. A proud Vincentian, he says that there is tremendous energy out there for a new form of Christianity – one that will be more like the early Christian Communities. He says New Evangelisation is aimed a communities in an effort to bring them closer to having a genuine encounter with Jesus, something which Fr. Pat believes can bring real passion into the Church. He says the New Evangelisation is all about the wisdom and insight of Vatican II and that his book offers pragmatic ways for people to either reconnect with their faith or to be introduced to it in a new way that will make the church come alive again.  He starts by explaining his background as a Vincentian priest to Conor Deane.
