McCullagh

For Fr. Michael McCullagh, spiritual director in Maynooth University, Holy Week and Lent are a time when we’re walking in the footsteps of the Lord. Here he talks us through the time from Ash Wednesday to Holy week, looking in particular at Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. He explains to Miriam Gormally that Lent and Holy Week are a time of service.

“Are there divine footprints on Earth?” What a beautiful question, that highlights the wonder of the incarnation. when I saw that Michael was speaking on this subject, I was interested in listening. He comes from a contemplative space and this is evident from his sharing. Our fear of the silence is so important to bring to awareness. I am reading a book by Maggie Ross at the moment about silence and this interview brings what can be theory into my actual life in the here and now. “We should watch the growth of Jesus within us” is a phrase I will treasure as Easter approaches. Many thanks for raising my awareness to this.
