“The evangelical message by our Lord Jesus Christ was given to the whole Church,” says renowned canon lawyer and theologian Ladislas Orsy SJ. He was in Ireland on May 23^rd to give the memorial lecture on Michael Hurley SJ, well-known ecumenist and founder of the Irish School of Ecumenics who died in April 2011. Fr. Orsy is author of numerous books and articles and the main intent in his writing is to keep the spirit of the Second Vatican Council alive, especially on the subject of dialogue and the authentication of the true message within the Church. Here he talks with Pat Coyle about the Magisterium, the teaching authority of the Church, and who has the right to authenticate this message or give the final answer.
