Water is essential to life. Throughout history great wars have been fought over water rights and access to water. Even in modern times, in the Middle East, water rights are at the heart of the dispute between Syria and Israel over the Golan Heights. In the Bible, water is often used as a metaphor for life or cleansing. Liam Cahill asked Father Tom Cox about this symbolism of water.
