The Iona Institute has launched a new national billboard campaign to promote the right to life of the unborn. The billboards show an image of the unborn baby at 11 weeks with the message ‘one of us’.
The point, they say is that the “posters show how unmistakably human the unborn child is at 11 weeks, how unmistakably the baby in the womb is a fellow human being, which is to say, ‘one of us’.”
Speaking on behalf of The Iona Institute, David Quinn said that the bill board signs was a two week campaign to highlight the humanity of the baby, something he says is often written out of the equation. He added that they will follow up later with a second campaign. Miriam Gormally began by asking him about the idea behind the campaign and the response so far.
