The recent Ceifin conference in Clare, looking at family life today, hit the headlines with strong reactions to comments from Cardinal Sean Brady on the status of marriage in Irish society. The Cardinal drew comments for his response to new proposed government legislation on relationships other than marriage, saying that, “those who are committed to the probity of the Constitution, to the moral integrity of the Word of God, and, to the precious human value of marriage between a man and a woman as the foundation of society, may have to pursue all avenues of legal and democratic challenge to the published legislation.”  Miriam Gormally spoke with Fr. Harry Bohan organiser of the conference and asked him to explain more.
