The need for radical reform of the Irish education system as envisaged by Education Minister Ruairi Quinn, and the impact that reform might have on Catholic schools, are topics that have been repeatedly discussed on radio and in the paper.
This summer’s edition of the influential Jesuit journal Studies explores this topic, including a features article by Minister Quinn on his plans for the future. There are also various responses to his thinking by bodies such as the unions, educationalists, Catholic school representatives and the Church of Ireland.

Bruce Bradley SJ, editor of Studies, in an interview with Pat Coyle, say’s it’s not the first time the Journal has tried to make a contribution to the future of Irish education.
