Devotion to St. Therese was reinforced in Ireland with the outstanding success of the visit of her relics in 2001. 2007 marks the 80th anniversary of the proclamation by Pope Pius X1 of St. Therese as co-patroness of all missions and missionaries.  Together with the Carmelite Sisters in Lisieux and the St. Therese Shrine there, a special St. Therese National Day will be celebrated at Knock Shrine on Monday  – the Bank Holiday – May 7th. Carmelite priest Fr. Linus Ryan told Eileen Good why it’s such a significant day.
