Many people in Ireland are not aware of the danger of skin cancer, but it is one of the most common cancers in this country. Of course with the mixed weather we’ve been having recently, people would be forgiven for thinking that there was no danger and so no need to put on sunscreen.  However clouds only block out some of the suns rays, so the need to be careful is still there.  Miriam Gormally phoned Eimear Cotter, Assistant Health Promotion Officer with the Irish Cancer Society and asked her to explainthe importance of sun protection, especially for children.
