The Church on Environment

The Church has not always taken a strong stance on environmental issues, focusing rather on the individual sufferings of mankind.  However with climate change affecting more people around the world, environmental protection is now a critical issue in terms of global equality and justice.  Seán McDonagh, a Columbian priest and author of many books on Church and Environment, has worked in countries already suffering the effects of global warming, so knows first hand the destruction it can bring to peoples’ lives.  He explains to Miriam Gormally why the environmental issue is also a theological and moral issue.
