Amma, renowned humanitarian and Peace Prize winner, more commonly known as the hugging saint is coming to Dublin this weekend. Miriam Gormally met with Maura Russell, who is helping to organise her visit. They spoke about her work and about why thousands of people line up to receive a hug from this remarkable woman.

  1. Michael McCullagh says:

Great to hear the social reform dimension of Amma’s work.

Liked your question regarding Amma being able to challenge those living in great wealth.

“Spiritual poverty”: Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta spoke of this poverty also.

Good question on “religion”. Her religion is love. Hard to question that. God is love. The two great commandments are love of God and love of neighbour.

Another great interview – thanks Miriam.
