Jesus Christ made seven final statements during his last hours on the cross. These statements offer a glimpse into the depths of his suffering to accomplish redemption. They reveal his divinity as well as his humanity. Pat Coyle was part of a group that was asked to pick one of the statements and to give a reflection on it. She chose the words from Luke 23:46 “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
