In this second part of our series on Mission for this month of October, which was declared an Extraordinary Missionary Month, we look at the value of Irish missionaries around the world. Juileann Moran is the National Secretary for the Society of Missionary Children with World Mission’s Ireland and she explains to Miriam Gormally that our Irish missionaries have created a wealth of a global networks connecting Ireland with the rest of the world.

They explore the new ideas around mission and how as Pope Francis said, “faith is not propaganda or proselytism: it is a respectful gift of one’s life.”

In a prayer vigil opening a month dedicated to missionaries, in St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, he added that mission is to “live by spreading peace and joy, by loving everyone, even their enemies, out of love for Jesus.”
