In June of this year Pope Benedict XVI published his third encyclical Caritas in Veritate (Charity in Truth), significantly for these times it is his first social encyclical. Miriam Gormally spoke with Eamon Meehan, the Deputy Director of Trocaire, who explained the importance of this encyclical and how it is relevant in our world today.  Eamon began by telling Miriam why there was a delay in its release.
