A Feminist St Patrick?

St Patrick, Ireland’s national patron saint had plenty to offer to women. So says Soline Humbert a prominent member of “We are Church” with a particular interest in justice for women and exploring how they have been excluded from the Church. Like Saint Patrick she was a stranger in this land and like him she too came to have a great affection for Ireland. Here she talks about how St. Patrick’s Confessions were very inspirational for her and that he was a whole man, unafraid of his vulnerabilities and emotions. She also points out that he was the last saint to reference his dreams as an inspiration for his action and how changes in Church Teaching forbade using the wisdom of dreams.
