The Gospels are very familiar to us but they are not always so easy to read. Maybe that’s because we’re too familiar with them, since we frequently hear readings from them. We think they’re just the life of Jesus, so that one Gospel is more or less the same as the other. Maybe it’s because they are deep and full of meaning. To help readers to understand and enjoy the Gospels more, Father Oliver Crilly has developed what he calls “shortcuts” or “stepping stones” to each of the Gospels. He explained to Liam Cahill what he meant by a “stepping stone”.
