The 50th anniversary of the death of Canon Hayes is currently being commemorated at Bansha, Co. Tipperary.  A man of vision and probably ahead of his time, Canon Hayes is probably best remembered for his role in rural electrification and most notably as founder of Muintir na Tire.  Martin Quinn from Bansha, one of the commemorative committee, spoke to Eileen Good about Canon Hayes’ life and legacy.
