Laura Byrne talks with a mother whose baby was born with severe difficulties and how she has decided to raise badly needed funds for the hospital in return for the help her son Oscar received while in their care.
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin is Ireland’s largest paediatric hospital, helping almost 30,000 patients in 2012 alone. Budget cuts and tough economic times in recent years have emphasised the necessity of fundraising in order to sustain the excellent medical attention provided at institutions like Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Laura Byrne speaks with Unity Pollard, a new mother, whose son Oscar was born with a very serious heart condition and was cared for in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital earlier this year. She shares her experience and talks about her upcoming fundraising event, Coins for Crumlin. For more information please find Coins for Crumlin on Facebook and Twitter.
