It is one year since the abortion referendum. A vote which according to Dr David Thunder, raises questions on compassion.

Dr Thunder is a university lecturer and researcher in moral, political, and social philosophy who grew up in Ireland where he studied at UCD. Subsequently, David moved to the United States to pursue a Ph.D in political science (University of Notre Dame). Later Dr. Thunder spent a year as a postdoctoral research fellow at Princeton University’s Politics Department, and after that, he spent three years teaching at Villanova, outside Philadelphia.

David has written for the Irish Times and has appeared on national television in Ireland and on Newstalk. Here he speaks with Conor Deane about his views on compassion and how it’s important to combine logic and reason with empathy, especially in the case of the unborn.
