Compassion of Christ

Having spent 20 years of ministry in Northern Ireland, including working as a counsellor, Pat Davis SJ talks with Pat Coyle about how the compassion of Jesus is his driving force. “When you are sitting helping a client as a counsellor, you are being compassionate, you’re listening to them, not judging them and helping them to heal. And that’s why so many people are coming to counselling. But that’s exactly what Jesus offered people, mercy and compassion. He did not condemn. I’ve come to realise that.”

This is something which he has thought a lot about recently as he explains to Pat Coyle.

Short but to the point. I am heartened to listen to this interview from a man, who shares that he too is on the journey on this long road to being fully compassionate, about the centrality of compassion. Thank you!
