Natalya Pakshyna is a Russian dancer who has been bringing her dancing passion to Ireland. Based in a studio in the Malahide Industrial Estate, she has a particular interest in working with students who have special emotional or physical needs. She believes dance and music to be a way to heal the person and allow them to “fly”. Her work is also guided by a deep sense of faith and she talks about how she came to her faith despite growing up in Russia, where there were numerous religious restrictions. She explains to Conor Deane that the environment in Russia is now changing changing and the many people are returning to their faith. But first she begins by explaining that for her and other Orthodox Christians, the big celebration is on Jan 7th.
