Christian Unity Week takes place from the 18th to the 25th of January. Pulpits are exchanged and special ecumenical worship services are arranged. Pat Coyle speaks with Gillian Kingston, lay leader of the Methodist Church in Ireland about her role in Ecumenism and about the importance of Christian Unity.
Point of information – I think Gillian is a lay “reader” in the Methodist Church. Also, she refers to the winds of change that blew through the Catholic Church from Vatican II. Might be a good idea to look for comments on Pope Benedict’s comments on how Vatican II came to be reported in the media and then generally accepted. See today’s Irish Times 15th February 2013.
