Grief at Work

Death is an inevitable and normal part of life and work.  It is a painful reality which all of us have to face at some point in our lives, though as Woody Allen highlights – most of us would prefer not to have to deal with it. Death is challenging, especially at work where it can be seen as a taboo topic, which is best avoided or at least, dealt with privately.  The Irish Hospice Foundation have produced a study ‘Grief at Work – Developing a Bereavement Policy’  which was launched recently by David Begg, General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. Eileen Good asked him about his reaction to the publication.
