The annual Pioneer/Matt Talbot pilgrimage will take place to Knock Shrine on Sunday July 20th. Matt Talbot was born in Dublin’s inner city, he started to drink at the age of 12 and soon became an alcoholic. The story of his recovery and his subsequent sobriety has inspired people world-wide, many of whom are members of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association. Eileen Good spoke to Fr. Barney McGuckian and asked him about the ongoing devotion to Matt Talbot.
