Meaning and being

Holy Week is a time when we reflect on the meaning of life and suffering. Viktor Frankl wrote one of the most profound and best selling books on the matter, Man’s Search for Meaning. Frankl, who was Jewish, suffered incredibly during the Holocaust. He lost everything, family, possessions, faced extermination daily and yet found that life was worth preserving and that the most powerful motivation and driving force for humans was striving to find meaning. He founded a therapy called Logotherapy, which stems from his core belief that human nature is motivated by the search for a life purpose.
Miriam Gormally talked with Dr. Stephen Costello who offers teaching and training in Logotherapy about what meaning we might take from it during Holy Week and how we might reflect on the meaning of our own lives.
