This year marks the centenary of the birth of Pedro Arrupe SJ. A missionary and later Superior General, he was a pivotal figure in shaping the path of the Jesuit order. Traditionally the Jesuits had been more involved in education, but Arrupe, sensitive to the needs of social justice, gave his life to promoting Jesuit involvement in that area. Piaras Jackson asked Brian Grogan SJ to tell the story of Pedro Arrupe.
