Religious education in Primary Schools is often a contentious topic. Given that there are few options, schools, pupils and parents often find themselves in the position of mismatched religious needs. This is particularly the case during the years where students are celebrating a sacrament. Miriam Gormally spoke with Dr. Gareth Byrne, Head of Religious Education at Mater Dei about these difficulties.
