John Guiney S.J is currently on sabbatical leave in Ireland from Eastern Africa. Originally from Limerick, John has been in Africa since 1979 and joined the East Africa Province in 1992 – he has been Regional Director of the Jesuit Refugee Service Eastern Africa for the past six years.  During that time he has seen at first hand an increasing number of volunteers going to Africa and he told Eileen Good how he regards this developing trend.
