The topic of cancer has been in the news frequently, with constant reports on greater need for accurate testing and plans for more facilities.  However we sometimes forget the personal story, the human face that goes with the disease.  Catherine Thronton is one woman who had to deal with breast cancer.  She also had the additional stress of hearing the news in November 1999, when she had to face into Christmas and new Millennium celebrations, with a young son.  She subsequently wrote the book, “Why Mum, A small child dealing with a big problem.”  Miriam Gormally asked her how she managed to cope with this news coming up to Christmas and why the book was so important.
