The Central Statistics Office recently released a survey of income and living conditions in Ireland. It showed that there were 394,000 children living in poverty. Michelle Murphy from Social Justice Ireland, an organisation who advocate for greater equality and sustainability said that could mean they don’t have enough money to pay for warm winter clothes, a raincoat or even sufficient food. She explained to Miriam Gormally from Soul Waves Radio that as a society we need to break this cycle and ensure that all children in Ireland get a fair chance.
