Summit `17 takes place in the Croke Park Conference Centre, July 13th to 15th in Dublin. Christopher Gault from the Summit team said it was an opportunity for Christians to meet together to renew their faith and revitalise their sense of purpose.

The idea for the conference came from an Irish priest, Fr James Divine, who saw that Irish Catholics could benefit from some of the energy and ideas of communities overseas. Keynote speakers at the conference include the founder of FOCUS, Curtis Martin; Vice President of the Augustine Institute and Dr Edward Sri; director for Evangelisation for the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. The talks will be followed by time for prayer, reflection and mixing with other young Catholics.

Miriam Gormally met with Christopher Gault to find our more about the conference, but also to ask whether Christian ideas were hard to introduce into a society that has been moving away from religion.
