Art education is an important aspect of the overall education of children. Siobhan McKenzie is an art teacher and believes that teaching through art opens up a whole world of colour to students and teaches them a better way to understand themselves. She talks to Miriam Gormally about the Learning Through Art program and how she feels it is improving self esteem and confidence in children. She believes art can influence a child’s performance in other subjects and explains how its has benefitted students of all levels.
