In 1965 Sr. Consilio founded Cuan Mhuire in Athy Co. Kildare to help those struggling with addictions. She attributes the success of the centre, not to anything she did, but to the support received from Our Lady. After her presentation at a recent conference on Addiction in the Jesuit Manresa Centre in Dublin, she told Eileen Good that most of the addicts she met had very low self esteem.
