Soul Waves Radio’s AGM took place this week with a talk from Ruth Patterson – a Presbyterian minister, who has been Director of Restoration Ministries since 1988, a non denominational, Christian organisation committed to peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. She was the first woman to be ordained as a minister in Ireland. And she had written four books and numerous article about her commitment to unity and peace and contributed to ‘Forgiving and Remembering in Northern Ireland – Approaches to Conflict Resolution’, edited by Graham Spencer. At the talk she looked at the way in which church communication can inspire and help people to feel beloved. In this first part she talks about how the gaze of love can allow people to experience forgiveness in the intimacy of silence.
