The Dromantine Retreat and Conference Centre, pictured above, will host this year’s Summer School of the Society of African Missions. Running from 29 June – 1 July 2018, the theme of the event will be “Radical Discipleship – Healing for a World in Pain”. The gathering will open with a panel discussion on the main theme, with keynote presentations over the weekend on a range of issues delivered by Professor Tina Beattie, (University of Roehampton and contributor to the Tablet), John Lonergan, (Former Governor of Mountjoy Prison) and Cardinal Vincent Nichols, (Archdiocese of Westminster). Dympna Mallon SMA Laity Coordinator talked about the foundations of this Summer School and how it evolved from a retreat house for home coming African Missionaries to a place of discussion for anyone interested in asking questions and deepening their spirituality.
