Alzheimer Cafes provide a warm and welcoming space for people with dementia, their family and friends and social and health care professionals to meet, exchange insights and ideas. They are run for a few hours on the same evening each month and are led by a mix of organisations, professionals, carers, people with dementia and volunteers interested in the area.

The Dominican sisters in Cabra are setting up their own Alzheimer Cafe which will take place in Santa Sabina House, 183 Navan Road, Dominican Campus on the first Thursday of the month, starting November 6th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Miriam Gormally spoke with Sr. Edel Murphy OP who explained why the Dominicans were getting involved.
