Fr.Tony Flannery has been making headlines lately and the word excommunication has now been added to the controversy surrounding him. The Irish Catholic says he won’t be excommunicationed, but The Irish Times say otherswise.

Miriam Gormally met with Petra Conroy, coordinator of Catholic Comment’s, a team of lay people who speak about Church issues in the media, to get her views on the issue. Petra agreed that there are certain teachings which the Catholic Church insists have to be followed, but she began by trying to understand Fr. Flannery’s dilemma.
