Celebrating Creation

From the 1st of September to the Feast of St Francis on 4th October, churches around the world will be marking Creation Time. This is a time to “be dedicated to prayer for the protection of Creation and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles that reverse our contribution to climate change”. (3rd European Ecumenical Assembly in Sibiu, Romania in 2007).

Creation Time 2018 follows the theme “Passing our Planet on”, reflecting minding our planet for the next generation.

Eco-Congregation Ireland (ECI) will be taking part in Creation time, encouraging churches of all denominations to take an all-encompassing eco approach to worship and living a more simple sustainable lifestyle.

Miriam Gormally spoke with Rev Andrew Orr from Eco Congregations Ireland to find our more.

  1. Suzanne Ryder says:

I am delighted to see Eco-Congregation Ireland featured by Soul Waves, as I have seen the effects of their presence in different places. I hope this clear interview will inspire me and others to take some more initiatives in walking more gently on Earth. May those signs of hope that Andrew mentions here blossom.
