Fiann O’Nualain is an author, broadcaster, columnist and advocate of gardening for health and wellbeing. He has a background in medicinal botany, nutritional science and horticultural therapy as well as holistic therapies, mindfulness facilitation and CBT counselling.

He has written books such as the The Holistic Gardener – Natural Cures for Common Ailments and Beauty Treatments from the Garden as well as By Time is everything revealed, Irish Proverbs for Mindful Living.

He shares his passion for the outdoors and our need to respect it and to discover anew God within nature, saying that this could help to address our current climate crises. He tells us how important it is to absorb the properties of plants, looking in particular at the traditional Irish vegetable, cabbage. He also talks about how religions such as Christianity can rekindle some of the earlier teachings of saints like, St. Francis or St Kevin, who had a deep connection with the  earth and to creatures around us. He explains more to Miriam Gormally.
