Modern lives can be very busy – saturated by technology and media, there isn’t always time for happiness. Christmas in particular can be fraught and stressful. But New Year gives a fresh start. In this book, “Finding God in the Mess” published by Messenger Publications, Jim Deeds and Brendan McManus SJ use photography and reflections to look at how God is often working in the most surprising of situations and how to tap into everyday emotions to find deeper spiritual truths. Pat Coyle talks with Brendan McManus to find out more.

This excellent interview reminds me of a line in a Kris Kristofferson song, where a character remarks that the other “must have been reading my mail.” Talk about relevant to the stresses I encountered this Christmas. If I never read this book, I will have benefitted from this interview. Sincere thanks.
