Ireland has become ones of the most globalised economies in the world. People from all over the world are coming to work and live in this country. Dr. Jean-Pierre Eyanga Ekumeloko is one such person, who arrived in Ireland in 1997. Qualified as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, he was unable to work here, even when granted asylum, as his education wasn’t recognised in Ireland.

He says that Ireland needs to “take advantage or benefit from the presence of these people, especially from those who have chosen to live in this country.” In particular so that people who arrive in Ireland can be a benefit to Ireland.

He explains more to Miriam Gormally.
