The Mariapolis – the summer event in the Focolare movement – is like a retreat where people live together for a week taking part in talks, workshops, reflections, discussions and outings. Susan Gately speaks to Miriam Gormally about this year’s event in Galway which is open to all members of the public. She describes the event as a combination of a holiday and a retreat and talks about the benefits the Mariapolis brings to her family life and how it reminds everyone that the most important thing in life is love.
