Mary is much celebrated at this time of year – December the 8th, when we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of Mary and Nov 21st, when we celebrate   “The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary”. Marie Dunne, a Holy Faith Sister talks about how she wrote her song Mary Temple of the Lord for the Presentation Brothers when they had their General Chapter in Rome.

Their whole spirituality is around the presentation of Mary, a feast not mentioned in the New Testament but rather in the Infancy Narratives of James. According to that text, Mary’s parents, Joachim and Anne, who had been childless, received a heavenly message that they would have a child. In thanksgiving for the gift of their daughter, they brought her, when still a child, to the Temple in Jerusalem to consecrate her to God. Marie Dunne talks with Miriam Gormally about her song, Mary, Temple of the Lord. The also look at Marie’s musical vocation and explore another instrumental album, Ripples of the Divine, which she brought out in earlier in the year.

The song Mary Temple of the Lord is available from Marie Dunne CHF or from the Presentation brothers.

The album, Ripples of the Divine is available in Veritas, Knock, many of the Religious retreat house, iTunes or from Marie Dunne CHF herself.
