The Very Reverend Dr William Morton has been elected Dean and Ordinary of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin. Elections took place last evening (9th May 2016).

Dean Morton was ordained deacon in 1988 and priested in 1989. He has been Dean of St Columb’s Cathedral in the Diocese of Derry since 1997. He was appointed to the chapter of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral as Prebendary of Howth in 2013.

A previous Dean of St. Patrick’s, Dean Victor Griffin, described him as a “great reconciling person” who was very much “Dublin’s gain”. Here Dean Willian Morton speaks with Miriam Gormally from Soul Waves about the projects and challenges that lie ahead – both spiritual and practical.
